Not so common sense

Allow me to rant. I was shocked. I know I shouldn’t have been… but I was. I’ve seen some dumb things. In fact I have seen too many dumb things but this one is near the top of the list. It was in Vancouver again. I was on this Vancouver roof looking for the cause of a flat torch on roof leak. I found it. Someone had screw fastened an aluminum down pipe into the roof! That’s right. INTO THE ROOF! Imagine you have a flat torch-on roof and someone comes and puts a nail right in the middle of it. This was worse though. In this case they put a nail in a down pipe which collects and funnels all rain water from a large upper roof level. So not not only was this screw hole getting the water load that fell on the main roof but it also got all the water flow from the roof drain above. Actually I shouldn’t complain. Thanks to him I sent out another invoice. I just feel sorry for the people who paid for him to do that. I gave the Strata a break.
